Yes but....what is Osteopathy?

The definition of Osteopathy by our regulatory body* is:

'Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.'

This is a great start, however it would be fairly minimalist to stop here so this is what Osteopathy means to me:

Osteopathy is a philosophy, a way of thinking, is having an open-minded approach to Life in general.

Being an osteopaths means interacting with the human body, acknowledging it as a whole and help it return to an improved state of function.

The work of osteopaths, through theirs hands and touch, is a way to help people to reduce pain, improve mobility in their bodies and return to physical activity, to what they like and enjoy to do.

In a way, by guiding people towards a better state of function, on a larger scale it can translate into a more functional society and ultimately into making this a better place to be in.

What really fascinates me about osteopathy is the ability to only need few tools like your knowledge and your hands, help someone to feel better and knowing you are having a positive impact around you.
